Next Session of DTLA Puppy Class!

May is the perfect time to train your pup!  Bark & Clark is NOW accepting registration for our May 18th session! 

To all the puppy owners out there, Bark & Clark's next puppy class session will begin on May 18th @ 7:30pm, returning to our usual Downtown location at the DTLA Vets.

This is a 5 week class that will address all the basics to rearing your puppy.  We teach sit, down, stay, leave it, recall (come when called), and walking on a leash.  We also address typical puppy issues like jumping up, puppy biting and potty training.  As well, each class will have a puppy play period to allow for positive dog on dog socialization. 

Is your pup already trained on the basics?  That's okay, you could still benefit greatly from this class.  We cover more than just the basic commands, we go into great detail about how to raise your pup in the DTLA environment, dog safety and how to properly socialize your pup overall.

March 26th session of Rosemont Vet Hospital Class now OPEN!

The next session of Puppy Obedience Class is now OPEN for the Rosemont Vet Hospital session in La Crescenta. 

The Puppy Obedience Class will start on Thursday, March 26th @ 7:00pm.  We will meet once weekly for 5 weeks, each class is 1 - 1.5 hours in length.  You and your pup will learn all the basic commands: sit, down, stay, leave it, and recall (come when called).  We will also address some of the most common puppy issues such as potty training, puppy biting or mouthing, walking on a leash, learning to not jump on people and socialization with other dogs and people.

This class is appropriate for pups up to 7 months old and they must have their first two DAP vaccinations. This class has a limit of 5 pups in class, so register today!  The cost is $175 per pup for the 5 week session.

March Puppy Class!

Love Your Dog Pooch Parade

It's time to celebrate loving that pooch!  It is my pleasure to announce 

Bark & Clark's first Pooch Parade of 2015, and my personal favorite!  Please join us for the 5th annual Love Your Dog Pooch Parade on February 24th @ 7:30pm.  It will be a night on the town with your dog as we take a love-filled, yet educational stroll through our the heart of the city.  Then a decadent treat for your pooches from Pussy & Pooch and finally a chance to sit down and enjoy adult treats with wonderful conversation at the lovely and dog friendly patio of Casey's Irish Pub.

Besides the obvious fun you will have, this is a great chance to learn about how to handle your dog downtown and in general with other dogs and humans.  This class focus is on using basic obedience to help your dog focus on you - not all the distractions. We'll also focus on showing your dog how loved they are, how to be a great socialized companion in our busy city, leash control and polite interactions with other dogs and people. Last but certainly not least, we address the ongoing battle of teaching owners the proper places to potty their dog and how to get them to go there!

We teach uptown manners for Downtown dogs! This class is so fun, it's more like an outing... So let's take a stroll through the city and focus on doggy's ability to deal with the public, the lively city and all the other pooches out and about.

I am so excited about this Pooch Parade, I hope I will see you all there!  Be sure to RSVP by February 19th because space is limited.  $50/dog.

New Puppy Class Session!

I think everyone agrees, puppies are one of the cutest things in the world.  But as they get bigger, if they are not well mannered or at least know a few basics, that cuteness wears off fast.  So enjoy the puppy stage a little longer and get that pup to school!

Join us for our next puppy class session, Monday, September 29th @ 7:30pm.

This is a 5 week class that will cover all the basics of obedience (sit, down, stay, come and leave-it), work on walking on a leash and address all those puppy behaviors (play biting, chewing, potty training, etc.) that most puppy owners need help with.    

At the beginning of every class there is a play session for all the puppies to start training on socialization with other dogs.  I also dedicate a good amount of time to educating on how to socialize your puppy to the rest of the world, manners and how to keep them safe.

This class is always a great mix of fun and learning.  It is hard not to smile the whole time and laugh with all the silly pups running around during play time or just watching them learn.  It is sure to be rewarding to both you and your pup.
